BA interested in Alitalia
British Airways Plc is interested in an alliance with Alitalia SpA, Il Sole 24 Ore reported, citing an interview BA Chief Executive Officer Willie Walsh gave to European journalists including the Italian daily.
The UK carrier's interest is "purely commercial" for the moment, Sole said, but could include an equity stake in the future. "Our offer isn't complementary to others taking stakes," Walsh said, according to Sole.
