Mine accidents graded

Managers of coal mines must report all accidents to local work safety authorities within an hour of them occurring, according to provisions issued yesterday by the State Administration of Work Safety and the State Administration of Coal Mine Safety.

The provisions divide mining accidents into four categories - minor, major, serious and extremely serious - depending on the number of injuries or casualties.
