"There was a girl named Xiaofang in the village, she was pretty and virtuous I will never forget your love in this life."
Fifteen years ago, a song called Xiaofang by Li Chunbo enjoyed great popularity across the country. With its sentimental lyrics and catchy rhythm, the song tells of a zhiqing reminiscing about love with a village girl after he returns to the city.
During the 1980s, literature reflecting zhiqing life boomed. By narrating the suffering of zhiqing at this time, the books were often labeled as "scar literature".
