Life for legislator
Chen Shili, the former chief legislator in the city of Huainan, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve yesterday for abuses of power.
He was found guilty at the Fuyang intermediate court in Anhui province of taking bribes totaling 6 million yuan ($870,000) from at least seven firms between 1991 and last year.
