Haikou scaling new heights

After beginning a campaign to improve the environment and enhance the wellbeing of its residents in 2005, Haikou today ranks among the most livable cities in the nation, according to local government.

In April alone, the local government brought medical care, agricultural technology and entertainment to the countryside seven times.

The local health department brought medicines and free treatment to the farmers, delivering pamphlets on health, while legal experts visited to help rural people know more about the law and their rights.
