Beat Kunzi's trainees know they are under the whip. When they make mistakes there is no escaping a severe tongue-lashing. "Kunzi is extremely serious with our performance," says Lu Jie, a teacher at the training base of China's national rescue team. "Once he found us relaxing during daily exercises and he got angry and urged us to stick to the standard."
