Hubei hotpots all fired up

Chu Tian Hong (楚天鸿酒家) is one of those Beijing restaurants, which has plenty of tasty choices, at low prices. Average spending is between 30-50 yuan per person, and from today the Hubei-style restaurant is offering half-price discounts over the next five days.

The restaurant has a festive red facade and cultural paintings hanging on the walls, featuring an ancient Chinese bell and a phoenix totem.

The restaurant is famous for its Hubei-style simmered chicken soup (湖北煨老鸡), old duck soup (老鸭汤), a tender and tasty longsnout catfish with soup served in stone pot (石锅鮰鱼), and sour and spicy fish slices (酸椒鱼片).
