Compensation for families

The families of the 11 students who died on Tuesday from carbon monoxide poisoning at a middle school in Shaanxi province, have received compensation of 200,000 yuan ($29,000) each, the publicity office of Dingbian county said.

A deputy magistrate in charge of education has been told to resign, while the chief of the education bureau and the headmaster of the school have been sacked.
