Eggs fail melamine test

The Hong Kong Center for Food Safety said on Tuesday on its website that a batch of fresh eggs imported from Jilin province was found to contain an excessive amount of melamine.

The eggs from Dehui contained 4.7 parts per million (ppm) of melamine, above the legal level of 2.5 ppm, the center said.
