Good report on women, children

SHANGHAI: The general development of women and children in this city has been good, according to a report by the municipal government.

The participation of women in decision-making, management and political issues has increased, the report said. It was released at a press conference yesterday.

The report is a mid-term evaluation on the development of Shanghai's women and children during the 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-10). It said the number of women Party delegates, deputies to legislatures, and members of political advisory bodies, was on the rise.
