German investment

Taicang, a coastal city in Jiangsu province, has been named "China-Germany Enterprises Cooperation Base" by the Ministry of Commerce. It is the first enterprises cooperation base in China under the name of the two countries.

As a port city near Shanghai, Taicang has attracted an increasing amount of foreign investment in recent years, especially investment from Germany. Foreign investment in the city has hit $1 billion and the annual output has soared to more than 10 billion yuan.
