Amendment to register

Transgender people in Jiangxi province will be allowed to change their gender status on hukou, the household register, Information Daily reported yesterday. Jiangxi is the second province after Henan, to approve the amendment.

Applicants will be required to obtain a medical certificate and a notarization from relevant agencies before they can be issued with new ID cards.
