Pork job offer may be a hype

China Daily | Updated: 2008-12-01 07:37

The recruitment of postgraduates by a pork company may be only a marketing hype, says an article in Xi'an Evening Post. The following is an excerpt:

A pork chain store company in Guangzhou recently opened 30 vacancies for university graduates with an annual salary of 80,000 yuan. So far, it has already attracted 1,500 postgraduate students to join in the interview and those who have passed four rounds of interviews will start working in the company next Wednesday, according to media reports.

Postgraduate students are usually well-educated while pork company jobs seem to be more suitable for less educated people. It is probably not that these students want to sell pork, but that the pay offered by this company is really attractive.
