Crystal is a woman's best friend
If you ask top Chinese actress Crystal Huang what her favorite thing is, the young idol's answer will definitely be: crystal.
When Huang appeared last week at a press conference with new agency Star International she wowed the press with a shining Lalique necklace and earrings, said to be worth about 30,000 yuan ($4,400).
As more luxurious international brands of crystal, like Lalique, Baracat and DAUM, enter the Beijing market fans can easily find the same accessories that their idols wear. Some high-end foreign crystal brands even produce artworks catering to the Chinese market. For instance, Lalique's new "Chinese Mood" collection draws inspiration from Chinese architecture. Pagoda roofs inspire the geometrical lines of its Lijiang crystal vase. Waves, clouds and mist on a lake in Yunnan province are made into beautiful patterns for the brand's crystal plates, cups and bottles.
