Clean energy venture
BP and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) yesterday agreed to establish a Clean Energy Commercialisation Center (CECC) in Shanghai. The two firms will jointly invest 500 million yuan in the joint venture to commercialise clean energy technologies.
Subject to government approvals, the joint venture is expected to start in early 2009.
