Man beats bribe charge thanks to quake effort

A company manager in Chongqing who tried to bribe a government official received a short jail term because of the good deeds he performed in the wake of the Wenchuan earthquake.

The manager Shen Guoqing offered a bribe worth 2.5 million yuan ($367,000) to a government official to select his tender for a highway project in 2007.
