74 convicted of serious organized crimes

The Supreme People's Court (SPC) said yesterday that two cases involving serious organized crimes have ended with 74 people convicted.

In one case in central Hubei province 22 people were involved, and in the other in eastern Anhui province, 52 people were involved, a statement issued by the SPC said

In Wuhan, Hubei's provincial capital, an organized crime gang was engaged in illegally purchasing weapons, organizing underground casinos and manipulating the transport business. They also murdered five people and seriously injured one, the statement said.
