Top cop under probe
Chen Xuming, deputy director of the Shenzhen Longgang district police department is under investigation for his connection with the Wuwang Club. On Sept 22, 44 people died in a fire at the club. Southern Metropolis Daily said yesterday investigators had confirmed Chen received 200,000 yuan ($30,000) a month in exchange for offering protection to the club.
