Talks to resume

Talks between Zimbabwe's rival political parties would resume today in South Africa, South Africa's president said yesterday.

President Kgalema Motlanthe says the talks will center on a constitutional amendment to allow a power-sharing government and the position of prime minister for the opposition leader to be authorized by Zimbabwe's parliament. That does not address the core differences between President Robert Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai over how to share portfolios in the Cabinet.
