Death for ex-Party chief

Li Dalun, former Party Secretary of Chenzhou, was given a death sentence with two years' probation, and had his personal property confiscated for accepting bribes totaling 14 million yuan ($2 million) and possessing unaccountable assets worth 18 million yuan, the Changsha intermediate people's court ruled yesterday.

His wife received a 10-year jail sentence and had 1 million yuan of personal property confiscated.
