Time for Becks to knock career on head, says Peters

China Daily | Updated: 2008-11-19 07:57

LONDON: David Beckham's career should be over, England's 1966 World Cup winner Martin Peters said following the LA Galaxy midfielder's run of substitute appearances.

The captain of England's World Cup winning side at Wembley, the late Bobby Moore, has 108 caps and Beckham, who was not picked for Wednesday's friendly against Germany in Berlin, has one less at 107.

Peters feels it is time to blood other players in the 33-year-old's position.
