Browns beat reeling Bills

China Daily | Updated: 2008-11-19 07:57

ORCHARD PARK, New York: Phil Dawson booted five field goals including a career-long 56-yarder late in the fourth quarter to clinch a 29-27 victory for the Cleveland Browns over the reeling Buffalo Bills on Monday.

With 38 seconds left, Buffalo kicker Rian Lindell had a chance to send the bone-chilled capacity crowd of 71,645 home happy but watched in agony as his 47-yard attempt sailed just wide of the uprights.

After opening the season with four consecutive wins, the Bills had looked ready to challenge for top spot in the AFC East but after four straight defeats have plunged to the bottom of the division with a 5-5 record.
