Geovanni strikes to frustrate City

HULL, England: Hull midfielder Geovanni returned to haunt Manchester City as the Brazilian salvaged a 2-2 draw at the KC Stadium on Sunday.

Mark Hughes' side were on course to end a dismal three-match losing run when Stephen Ireland replied to Daniel Cousin's early opener with a double-strike to put the visitors in control.

But Geovanni, who was released by City in the close-season, left his ex-team frustrated when he slammed home a deflected free-kick in the second half.
