Special supplement: Global outsourcing summit scales hi-tech heights in Chengdu

The Gartner China Outsourcing Summit 2008 begins today in the Shangri-la Hotel in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, and will last through Thursday.

Sponsored by the ministries of commerce, education, science and technology, and the Sichuan provincial government, it will be the first high-level international service outsourcing conference jointly held by the Ministry of Commerce and Gartner Inc, a leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry.

Participants at the summit come from a wide range of industries such as finance, logistics, communications, manufacturing, retail sales, aviation, chemicals, food, pharmaceuticals and IT.
