Killer gets death sentence

A man charged with the murder of a woman and setting off an explosion on Aug 19 last year, was sentenced to death last Tuesday by the second intermediate people's court of Beijing, Beijing News reported yesterday.

Wu Xiangdong strangled the woman, who had an affair with him, in her apartment in Fengtai district. He then set off a gas explosion in the apartment, which damaged 30 others in the neighborhood, the newspaper said.
