Satellite out of service
A Nigerian communications satellite, or NIGCOMSAT-1, built and launched by China has been knocked out of service due to a power failure, Geng Kun, spokeswoman for China's launch services provider Great Wall Industry Corp, said yesterday.
The satellite was put into orbit atop a Long March 3-B rocket in May last year.
