New plant

Denmark-based company Novo Nordisk will spend $400 million to set up a new insulin production plant in Tianjin, which will create 500 new jobs.

The new plant will take up an area of 88,000 sq m and is expected to become operational in 2012. Its major products, including NovoMix 30 and NovoRapid, will be manufactured at the new plant and sold on both the Chinese and overseas markets.
