Special Supplement: Host city for national fairs fuels commerce

Shenzhen continues to attract large numbers of exhibitors and visitors as host city of two major national events - the China High-tech Fair and China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, respectively held in October and May annually.

Initiated 10 years ago, China High-tech Fair is jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the State Intellectual Property Office, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Shenzhen municipal government.

The fair takes the role of building a national transaction platform for hi-tech business, organizers said.
