As you enter the charming old town of Shengfang you can see why it has such a notable history.

Located in Bazhou city, Hebei province, Shengfang has long been a famous financial and business center and was hailed by Emperor Qianlong (Qing Dynasty, 1644-1911 as "a land flowing with milk and honey", with some of the richest culture and most beautiful scenery in northern China.

Shengfang has just attracted large crowds of foreign diplomats, scholars specializing in traditional Chinese culture, artists, poets and everyday tourists to the second Baizhou Cultural Festival, all afforded the chance to appreciate its ancient architecture and culture. Festival visitors also got to see the same Shengfang Music Show that was played for the emperor and his concubines.
