Founded in 1957, the Tianjin Acrobatics Troupe has always slanted towards traditional performances but in recent years, its programs have tended to borrow elements from modern dance, rhythmic gymnastics and local operas. Its new programs, including Standing on One Hand, Cups Rolling and Ballet Theme, have won awards in many national competitions.
