Nothing but a ghost town

Two candles flicker and a bundle of incense smolders in front of the rubble of a residential building on Hehuachi Road in Sichuan's Dujiangyan city.

Whoever lit these is nowhere to be found; nor is anyone else for that matter.

It's a few hours after dusk on a Sunday nearly half a year since the 8.0-magnitude May 12 earthquake claimed about 70,000 lives nationwide. Tonight, Dujiangyan's city center is a ghost town in the truest sense of the word.
