Former Sudanese president dies
Sudan's former head of state Ahmed al-Mirghani has died in his home in the coastal city of Alexandria in Egypt, state news agency MENA said on Sunday.
Mirghani was president of Sudan between 1986 and 1989, when he was overthrown in the coup that brought the current Sudanese president Omar Hassan al-Bashir to power.
