Court chief jailed

Xie Jianzhong, president of a court in Jiangshan, Zhejiang province, was given 10 and a half years in prison for taking bribes and illegally possessing bullets, the Xinhua News Agency reported yesterday.

Xie, 54, was found to have taken bribes totaling 418,000 yuan ($61,000) between 2001 and 2006. The police also found almost 40 bullets in his home.
