Special Supplement: Students make a difference

By Chen Jia | China Daily | Updated: 2008-11-03 07:31

By encouraging students to get involved in the popular "Terry Fox Run", 51-year-old international educator Mark Bretherton said he was trying to make a difference for charity in China.

"It might be a fresh idea to go jogging for charity at some schools in China, but the Terry Fox Run has been popular at many international schools around the world for over 20 years," said Bretherton, head of the Beijing City International School (BCIS).

He said he believes the Terry Fox Run is easy to do as it links sport and charity, so that students can realize their social responsibilities and learn how to give and take.
