Sino-Greek trade ties to expand

Sino-Greek economic cooperation will continue to enjoy fast growth despite the current global financial crisis, a senior Greek politician said in Beijing.

"Our cooperation will only become closer in the future. Both China and Greece have very solid economic foundations and we will eventually overcome this financial crisis," said Lefteris Zagoritis, general secretary of Greece's ruling party New Democracy, on Thursday.

China and Greece have agreed to expand cooperation, placing particular emphasis on shipping and tourism, two pillars of the Greek economy, Zagoritis said.
