Rays saved by the rain

China Daily | Updated: 2008-10-29 08:02

PHILADELPHIA: The Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays will resume Game Five of the World Series on Tuesday with the score tied at 2-2 in the sixth inning after steady rain created unplayable conditions on Monday.

Philadelphia are one win away from clinching the World Series crown, holding a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Umpires ordered the diamond covered after Tampa Bay tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth on a field where rain had left puddles on the infield.
