金九银十 (jin jiu yin shi)

Golden September and Silver October

A Chinese term used to describe the peak sales season for cars, houses and other major consumer products. It has been used in particular for the sales of houses given that housing has become people's top priority in their daily consumption as the prices of houses have kept rocketing in recent years. But in this year's highly anticipated Golden September and Silver October, developers have not seen an increase in the volume of sales of houses. The reason is more people choose to wait and see, as the situation in the real estate industry, which has been in a slump for almost one year, still remains precarious.
