The Nov 15 summit, called by US President George W. Bush, is necessary to address the global financial crisis, but governments should not think one meeting would yield all the desired results, Slovenian President Danilo Turk has said.
Turk is on a four-day visit to China, during which he has attended the 7th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). After the meeting, which ended on Saturday, leaders of the two continents issued a joint statement, urging the international community to continue strengthening coordination and taking effective steps to stabilize the global financial market and promote economic growth.
"It is necessary to have meetings like the Washington summit," Turk told China Daily on Saturday.
