Terence Kohler's full-length ballet is based on the great Russian author Leo Tolstoy's novel, Anna Karenina. Dancers from the young but highly acclaimed dance company, Ballet of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, will present their interpretation of the great novel.

The Hong Kong Ballet Company features local ballerina Tan Yuanyuan in two vastly different lead roles, the powerful and modern Clear and the everlasting romance, Giselle. Known for her beauty and graceful dance movements, Tang has been called "a perfect dancer" and "a dancing angel".

Director Lin Zhaohua's 1990 version of Hamlet is considered one of the most experimental and avant-garde dramas in China and was staged to wide acclaim on the Chinese mainland and Japan 12 years ago. As part of the Shanghai International Arts Festival, Lin is teaming up with famous Chinese actor Pu Cunxin to present this alternative rendition of Shakespeare's masterpiece.
