Symbolic train runs empty

A daily cargo rail service running between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the Republic of Korea (ROK) and once hailed as a symbol of economic cooperation has been running empty about 90 percent of the time, officials said yesterday.

The first regular train service in more than 50 years between the two sides began in December.
