Senior NPC official in graft investigation

Zhu Zhigang, a senior official of the National People's Congress (NPC), is under investigation for alleged corruption, Xinhuanet.com reported yesterday.

Zhu, 58, is being investigated in a case in which one of his direct relatives bought properties at "extremely low" prices. The website did not say whether it was his wife or child. Neither did it give other details such as what properties they got and where they got them.

The property deals took place when Zhu was a vice-minister of finance.
