Man plays dumb foreigner after 2,000 yuan cab ride
Police detained a man in Shanghai recently for pretending to be a foreigner in a bid to escape a massive taxi fare.
The dodgy passenger, who claimed he couldn't speak Chinese, took a cab from Guangzhou to Shanghai, racking up a fare of more than 2,000 yuan ($300).
