Rorting taxi drivers put on notice over detours

Taxi drivers will be fined between 100 yuan ($14.68) and 500 yuan if they take a bypass to purposely extract a bigger fare from passengers in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, from last week.

The Haikou Municipal People's Congress recently passed The Management Rules on Taxis in Haikou in a bid to stop abuses by the city's taxi industry.
