Sino-Dutch ties set to shine

Viewing China as a star of the 21st century, Netherlands Ambassador to China Rudolf Simon Bekink told China Daily in a recent interview that relations between the two countries have a shining future.

"As a new arrival here, I am so fortunate to witness history-making moments such as the Olympics and the Paralympics, which impressed the world," said Bekink, who took up his post in Beijing six months ago.

After reflecting on the bilateral relations between the two countries, the ambassador is optimistic on their future. "In the last decades, I have only seen ups, but no downs, in our relationship," he added.
