Airlines are already suffering from sky-high oil prices and the global airline industry is expected to post losses of $5.2 billion in 2008, according to the International Air Transport Association. The global economic slowdown has also led to a decline in consumer confidence, which means people are tightening their purse strings as they have less disposable income to spend on travel.
