Green light for Tokyo festival

The 21st Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) has opened with much fanfare...but without the usual "red carpet" welcoming parade.

This year, celebrities walked instead on a green carpet made of recycled plastic bottles, to convey the message "Ecology = Preservation of Earth's Environment".

Starring in the welcome parade were Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso, together with Hong Kong director John Woo and actor Tony Leung, star of his Chinese ancient epic Red Cliff, which opened the festival.
