Hamilton on way to win Shanghai Grand Prix

SHANGHAI: Championship leader Lewis Hamilton showed he is poised to make history by finishing first in both Friday practice sessions of the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix.

The Briton drove his McLaren-Mercedes to clock a lap record one minute 35.630 seconds in the morning session before registering 1:35.750 later on to also lead the second session.

"This is the best possible way to kick off any weekend and has given me extra confidence for the next few days: I feel in a very good place right now," said Hamilton.
