China Daily | Updated: 2008-10-18 08:36

The more adventurous of our readers will be especially attracted by the Huanghuacheng Lakeside section of the Great Wall.

Apart from the obvious sightseeing, there is also opportunity to indulge in a sport of mountaineering and a bungy-jumping.

Also known as Huanghua Pass, the site stands at the upper reaches of the Huaijiu River and overlooks it as it flows from west to east. Hence, it is also referred to as Xishuiyu, meaning west water valley. Built in Jiuduhe Town of Huairou distict during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), it is located 65km from downtown Beijing.
