The 15th national congress of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) ushered in a new phase of better and more inclusive protection for working Chinese when it opened in Beijing yesterday.

Trade unions across the country are pledging to earnestly safeguard legitimate rights and interests of employees, better voice their opinions and coordinate labor relations.

Multinational companies which once worried about China's unionization drive should take comfort from the assuring messages that came out of the meeting.
