Yu removed from Party committee

Yu Youjun, former Party chief of the Ministry of Culture (MOC), has been stripped of his membership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the 3rd Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee announced yesterday at its conclusion.

The 4-day session approved a proposal by the CPC Central Committee's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection on Yu's removal.

Delegates also confirmed a decision by the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on Sept 5 to subject Yu's Party membership to a two-year probationary period.
